Alrighty, this is a Humbled Misty Moment.
It can be simple to come across a promising, unique dietary guide and believe you have discovered the solution! To raise awareness about the risks of adopting a diet regimen or cleanse without thorough research or medical supervision, I will share one of my personal cleansing experiences that didn't go as planned.
I followed the Medical Medium's celery juice regimen along with a cleanse consisting solely of melon and water. Initially, after three days, I felt fantastic with high energy levels. However, by the fifth day, I found myself in a dreadful condition. I suffered from the most severe migraine I had ever experienced, leading me to seek urgent medical attention with my parents rushing me to the emergency room.
While the Medical Medium books contain valuable information, I am skeptical about its originality or supernatural claims. I may not agree with all the information provided and some aspects remain unproven, so I maintain a cautiously open-minded approach. If you have his books, you can benefit from the valuable information to improve your health. However, I suggest refraining from paying for any additional services.
I am not the only person with an issue of Medical Medium. Here is a quote from another skeptic: “The problem with William is that not only is he not really coming up with anything original, but what he is coming up with is not systematically presented. It seems piecemeal and over-simplified — a pastiche of natural health advice he has obviously gleaned from somewhere. He seems to have a little holistic understanding of the body and mind, and no appreciation for the enormous complexity of the human body and chronic disease states. As a consequence, he puts forward inappropriate simplistic one-dimensional causal mechanisms for chronic disease states.”
Many of the formulas from Medical Medium are oversimplified, which is a clear example of fake or uneducated nutritional advice.
It is important to work with a holistic doctor or dietitian to determine if such an extreme is necessary and if so, how to do it safely.
However, one book is not enough information to learn about nutrition or how to take care of your body.
It is a much better choice to work with a registered dietitian or visit a specialized health center with doctors and nurses, such as True North in Santa Rosa, that offer medically supervised diet cleanses and water cleanses.
Consuming potent foods can lead to temporary illness. Herbs have been utilized for centuries. A method to promote healing is by eliminating toxins and poisons through processes such as sweating, vomiting, diarrhea, excessive urination, or using an herbal enema. If the cleansing procedure does not induce these symptoms, you may experience fatigue. Whether the effects are mild or severe, anticipate an altered routine for the duration of your cleanse, be it three days, a week, or a month. During longer cleanses, symptoms tend to peak at the beginning or midway through the regimen.
It is advisable to keep a journal and inform your trusted healthcare providers before embarking on any significant dietary changes or cleanse programs.
Cleanses have helped me reset and grow, mentally and physically. But when I did them wrong, they messed up my metabolism and affected my mental health and relationships with people.
Ensure your safety by taking time off from work or school if you are undergoing a rigorous cleanse. While not enjoyable, one can gain valuable insights from the experience! I have personally had significant psychological breakthroughs during cleanses, which have helped me control unhealthy food cravings, reduce fat, and enhance mental clarity. It's worth noting that a large number of Americans have parasites, so it's advisable to conduct your own research on this topic and consider doing a parasite cleanse at least once a year, particularly after traveling abroad. Personally, I found that such cleanses helped me emerge from a state of mental haziness. However, I must caution that I once experienced a severe illness during a cleanse, which was not a pleasant experience, although subsequent tests came back negative.
Side note: When testing for parasites, it often takes multiple tests to catch those little devils. You could test negative and still have them. If you want to avoid them, never eat out, and don’t have pets, haha. So, eating a plant-based diet (a vegan who doesn’t eat junk food) with lots of parasitic-fighting qualities should be consumed daily, especially if you interact with a lot of people.
Regarding viruses: I am eager for this theory to be tested. I have observed that when someone begins to crave sugar, they often experience cold symptoms shortly after. Try it out yourself - did you develop a flu shortly after consuming more sugar (excluding fruit)? Share your experience in the comments below.
